Around Sydney - Kiama, Jervis Bay, Kangaroo Valley

WombatsWhenever I have visitors coming to Australia I always plan their trip way in advance because I want them to experience as much as they can within a very short time and show them why I can’t leave Australia. And hello… the impact is always huge… they always go back home smiling and even months after they keep talking about what we’ve seen together.

Great Ocean Road - 12 Apostles

12 ApostlesAs for the Great Ocean Road I could talk about for hours but this time I’ll show you my photos instead. The coast is beautiful, you’ll find yourself wanting to stop at every one of the lookouts. Seriously you just can’t get enough of it. And you think it can’t get better… and guess what… it does get better.

If you stay in Melbourne you’ll have to plan at least 2 days for the trip and be prepared for a heap of driving. Anyone who gets car sick is better to take some pills. Read the rest of this entry »

Port Stephens - The Dolphin Capitol of Australia

Jimmy's beachPort Stephens is called the ‘Dolphin Capitol of Australia’ as it is home to around 150 bottlenose dolphins. It’s relatively close to Sydney (2.5 hours drive) and is good for either spending a relaxing weekend there or doing something more active.

If you have only one day to explore the area you should go to the north side of the bay (Hawks Nest / Tea Gardens) or south (Nelson Bay). Whatever you chose I’m sure you’ll have a good time. Read the rest of this entry »

Phillip Island - Penguin Parade and many more

Fur seal colonyIf you ever go to Melbourne, Australia you should spend a whole day at Phillip Island too. It’s only one and a half hours drive from the city and within a day you can discover the whole island, see beautiful animals, get closer to nature.
